Title: Technical Writer
The Technical Writer’s role is to develop and implement test plans for web based and mobile based applications. The responsibilities of this role include developing detailed test plans, creating test cases, developing or refining test data requirements, refining existing test scenarios, executing the test cases, identifying defects and managing defect remediation. Outputs will include a range of documents to be read by both technical and non-technical personnel across all departments.
Ability to review and analyze business requirements, process documentation and software specifications, familiarize themselves with the software’s objectives and develop business test cases. Strong interpersonal skills (verbal, written and presentation.) The position requires a lot of customer interaction including meetings, presentations and documentation. Strong knowledge of software development and implementation testing environments; developing and testing software, software defect identification and resolution. Proven ability to create clear and concise technical documentation. Proven track record writing proficiently for multiple audiences and in multiple modes (reports, meeting minutes, presentations, emails, technical specifications, proposals.) Experienced in the development of test cases using Jira. Ability to work with little oversight on short duration deadlines. Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint. Preferred Education: BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 3 or more years of experience with systems analysis or business analysis. 2 or more years of experience developing technical test documents and executing software testing activities.
BA in Computer Science or 10+ years of software development and testing.
