    The DBA Consultant will be part of the DBA Team. This individual must be highly proficient in Microsoft SQL Server and will be responsible for building, configuring and maintaining our SQL Server environment. The DBA Consultant must have the ability to work independently with little follow up regarding projects assigned. This individual is responsible for collaborating with Application Developers to assist in their development efforts by translating business requirements into database design, reviewing stored procedures and fine tuning queries.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Install, configure and patch SQL Servers in a clustered environment
    Design and develop database jobs, SSIS packages and stored procedures to support the reliability, integrity and scalability of the SQL Servers
    Automate monitoring of the SQL Servers
    Maintain the DR site
    Monitor database growth size and forecast future usage needs
    Review database code written by other teams
    Develop ETL jobs
    Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes
    Document the Firm’s database environment
    Troubleshoot performance issues and determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes or index/query changes
    Deploy database changes
    Work closely with all IT Teams
    Securing the SQL Server environment
    Support Always on Availability Groups

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    At least 5 years of experience within a high-volume, transaction-oriented production environment for SQL Server
    Experience with SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017 including writing stored procedures and triggers
    BS in Computer sciences or related field
    Experience with installing SQL Server on a cluster
    SQL data modeling and design
    Creating and maintaining SQL Server Availability Groups.
    Expert knowledge of relational databases
    Thorough knowledge of data backup, recovery, and rollback planning/implementation
    Expert proficiency in SQL Server optimization, fine-tuning, high availability and scalability techniques
    Knowledge of network architecture and topology
    In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows platforms
    Thorough knowledge of data security issues
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously
    Experience with Active Directory
    Self-starter and a team player with excellent communication skills collaborating with various stake holders on projects in the organization‚Äč
