Title: Project Manager
Primary Purpose and Goal
As a Project Manager, you’ll be expected to support several projects, within one of the International Portfolios. Project Managers are expected to ensure that their projects deliver on the required outputs detailed in their Project Charters, within the specified time and financial constraints. There is a strong focus on financial management, coordination of delivery team resources, and closely monitoring and maintaining detailed project plans. It is expected that status reporting, issue and risk management is undertaken on a timely basis and adheres the reporting cycles within their individual portfolio’s and executive reporting mandated by the GPMO PMO team.
Project Managers will be expected to follow the in-house project lifecycle from inception to completion using standard project lifecycle practices and artifacts.
Program and Project Background:
The program has 2 similar large SharePoint migrations phases that overlap in their timelines. The goal of these migrations are to support the closure of data centers currently hosted by DXC.
Project names and descriptions are as follows:
Phase I (KCentral and KCCC) SharePoint 2013 in DXC to SharePoint 2016 in Azure
The KCentral SharePoint 2013 farms currently contain over 20,000 internal and externally facing (client) sites. Embedded in these external sites are critical Audit applications that support Audit-related business. The infrastructure has been built out, but there is currently difficulties with proving out the physical migration approach. Additionally, there is a requirement to receive full Member Firm Consent prior to migration. This consent is currently posing substantial risk to meeting project timelines. Currently, the communicated migration event is scheduled for June 19th, 2020
Phase 2 (IntraPortals, My Sites and “other” apps) SharePoint 2013 in DXC to SharePoint 2013 in Azure via a Lift and Shift Approach
This phase of the migration is focused on migration of internal only sites such as Member Firm intranets, My Site People application and various other internal applications that support functions across the firm. Unlike phase 1, we are not building a new SharePoint environment, but rather looking for a way to migrate like for like into Azure to reduce the cost risk associated with using a new platform. Preliminary technical work has been done, and POCs to prove out lift and shift approaches are underway. It is anticipated that the migration event for this phase will occur immediately following the hypercare period of the KCentral migration (August-September)
