Title: Production Support
The position requires working closely with Application Developers and QA teams and operating within an Agile/DevOps focused environment to deploy and support Investment Management applications throughout their lifecycle.
-Helping to navigate through technology architecture reviews, setting up infrastructure platforms for the application suites and working with the application developers and business clients to define service level metrics to manage the reliability and availability of the application(s) to business users. The function has a particular emphasize on identifying unnecessary toil within the application ecosystem with a view to eradicate any unnecessary manual efforts through automation.
-Ensuring that the application is appropriately managed and monitored in production i.e. appropriate SLA defined, SLA and monitoring tools configured according to application criticality, document and train the Production Support teams on the application etc.
-Candidate will require a good understanding of the development life cycles, strong project management skills to support application product releases.
-Candidate must be able to improve reliability of the systems they will be supporting through analysis of metrics, assessment of incident root causes and help drive solutions to improve system reliability.
-The role requires gathering, analyzing, planning, and delivering requirements to drive implementation efforts. The role also requires close collaboration with IM Infrastructure teams, critical vendors, consultants, and subject matter experts to integrate and collaborate with the other IM Infrastructure teams and senior Business personnel to drive technology related initiatives.
-The person will serve as a direct point of contact to business leaders as well as senior technology managers.
-The candidate is expected to understand and ensure adherence to existing and new technology standards and policies especially surrounding their risk and regulatory responsibilities.
-The role requires building key relationships across horizontal technology silos as well as the IM business.
-Must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills as the role is demanding and delivery focused.
-Superb organizational skills and regular progress reports/communications are required.
-Must have a thorough understanding of the business as well as the tools/technology used to support/sustain business operations at Morgan Stanley.
-Solid knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle essential-Understanding of different environments; Dev, QA, UAT and Prod and the tools/systems used to manage, monitor product releases across these platforms required
-Strong data analytical skills needed for assessing automation opportunities, metrics reporting
-Infrastructure knowledge needed; AWS, Sybase, DB2, Windows server
-Good understanding of: Desktop platforms (Windows 7 & 10) Office 2010/2016 in particular MS Excel and PowerPoin to Microsoft Project and Planner
-Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills
-Required knowledge of main stream enterprise server, database technologies required
-Project Management experience required
-Knowledge and experience in Financial Service Industry required
