Title: Network Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting and improving the wide and local area network, which is the foundation of the Firm’s infrastructure. Provides problem resolution, analysis, recommends new technologies and deploys approved projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports the WAN, LAN, Wireless and VOIP infrastructure.
Researches technologies to improve and further secure our network.
Coordinates activities associated with the installation of operation level services.
Provides strong hands-on trouble shooting and installation skills.
Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
Develops and maintains technical documentation.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with clients, attorneys and staff.
Recommends alternatives to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
Manages Firm resources responsibly.
Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED COMPETENCIES:
Experience with Cisco router IOS and switch software
Experience with large enterprise networks with multiple media types and topologies
Experience with large enterprise VOIP environments
Experience with Cisco ASA Firewalls
Experience with IPsec and GRE site to site tunnels
Experience with 802.1x Network Access Control and Cisco ISE desired
Experience with large multi-site centrally managed Wireless networks
Experience with system performance monitoring and problem resolution
Strong understanding of network protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and Spanning Tree
Working knowledge of server based operating systems and communications protocols
Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
Knowledge of administrative best practices and methodologies
Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrates close attention to detail
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Certification
Minimum of five years related experience
