Title: Linux Administration
Server Administrator for non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers. Responsible for monitoring performance, fine-tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, deployments and post support according to company standards, policies and procedures. This includes maintaining disaster recovery environments to ensure compliance with the corporate plan of business continuity.
Adhere to all policies and procedures related to Non-windows based servers, specifically the Production Release Approval Procedure and System Trouble Reporting Procedure.
Responsible for all new non-windows server installations and server decommissions. Planning and following though on all actions including pre-deployment testing on new server installs.
Responsible for backing up and restoring all servers.
Responsible for Performance tuning and capacity planning of all non-windows servers.
Responsible for space monitoring and reporting.
Responsible for Hardware Inventory Reporting and Hardware EOL(End-of-Life) Reporting..
Responsible for updating Server Documentation.
Responsible for assisting server compliance testing.
Responsible for implementing all server security according to Security policy in accordance with industry best practices.
Application development support and batch EOD support for all non-windows related systems.
Responsible for maintaining the infrastructure related to Non-Windows Unix and Linux platform servers within the America’s, including troubleshooting, deployments and post support of new releases.
Responsible for maintaining good communication contacts with vendors, Head Office’s systems support teams and local IT teams as needed; including interface with end users and next level management to provide technical consulting as it relates to Non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers.
Responsible for implementing security procedures and monitoring with in the Unix team. Development and documentation.
Assist with projects related to Non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers and cooperate with other IT teams based on project requirements.
Keeping abreast with technologies on an ongoing basis to maintain a high level of technical competence in order to make recommendations to next level management, as required.
Enhancing Security policies on all Unix platforms. Suggesting and evaluating new security enhancements to Unix server environment.
Provide leadership in performing tasks in an efficient, effective and professional manner.
Support the bank in any BCP Contingency events either onsite or remote support, Example could be bad weather (snow, rain) or could be transit strike just as an example.
Assist with achieving the Team’s business plans and short-term objectives, reporting/resolving system troubles, including recommending countermeasures and proactive steps to prevent system failures and breakdowns.
Assist with the maintenance of professional documents, schematics and diagrams related to Non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers within theAmerica’s.
Reporting all system troubles to management in a timely manor as they occur. Fill out summary sheet describing the problem and emailing it to management.
Obtain a basic understanding of the applicable rules and regulations that govern the Bank. Understand that all questions and/or clarification about such rules and regulations should be directed to the Legal & Compliance Unit of the Americas Division. Attend the Annual Compliance Training presented by the Legal & Compliance Unit. Read and respond as necessary to all compliance-related reference and directive materials received. Comply with the Bank’s “Code of Conduct”.
Adhere to all PTCC policy and regulations as put forth by the bank.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience : 7+ years Experience in financial institution .
2. Qualification: Project experience – Full project life Cycle (Working under Project management)
Experience : 5+ years
3. Qualification: Strong knowledge of Operating Systems. (AIX, Linux, Solaris, etc)
Experience: 7+ years
4. Qualification: BS degree in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience with required certifications.
