    Operations and Support

    1. Engineering of Windows related solutions for various project and operational needs including but not limited to intimate knowledge of Windows IIS, Windows Server 2008, 2012, Windows Active Directory 2003 and 2008, Windows Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Clustering, Microsoft Application Request Routing (ARR) and both hardware and software Load Balancing

    2. Via remote access configure new/existing servers, services, settings, directories, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements

    3. Install, configure, and maintain 3rd party applications and systems in support of application portfolio
    4. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures

    5. Contribute to and maintain system standards

    6. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage available resources and provide economies of scale
    7. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Create, change, and delete user accounts per request

    8. Perform regular security monitoring to identify possible issues including to modifications/requests as needed for modification of firewall and load balancing environments supporting server infrastructure.

    9. Maintain/oversee daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up as required.

    10. Participate and adhere to the policy and procedures

    11. ITIL Operations principles of Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Deployment/Release Management

    12. Provide Tier II and III support to various groups; investigate and troubleshoot issues as required

    13. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures

    14. Schedule/apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis. Configure / add new services as necessary

    15. Upgrade and configure system software that supports Mercer Talent applications per project or operational needs

    16. Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedural documentation

    17. Perform weekly performance reporting to support capacity planning and system performance

    18. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required
