Title: Dev Ops
DevOps Engineer with automation experience to implement and support our Private Cloud-based solutions. The candidate should have strong technical, functional and analytical skills with good experience of automation and supporting critical infrastructure. This position will contribute towards supporting and driving infrastructure implementations to completion, and serving as subject matter expert to the user community, across Infrastructure, Platform, and Software as a Service (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS). In this role, you will be performing or automating administrative and operational tasks based on requests or issues identified by the operations team or users, support end-to-end private cloud releases, responding to infrastructure issues, implementing new environments and functionality with guidance from the Engineering group, and improving existing processes with agile development methods, production on call support. The Cloud Ops team will work with our internal partners to progress the Cloud program, enabling IT business teams to blueprint applications and modernize some or all components of their applications, reduce dependency on the legacy infrastructure with the goal of reducing overall datacenter footprint and reduce infrastructure costs to the business. This role requires proficient communication, as well as creative use of available tools to efficiently produce solutions in the cloud technology space.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide automation and process | system improvements within the cloud space and consultancy services to other teams using technologies such as Ansible and Python.
Active collaboration with the Global Operations and Engineering teams to implement key projects within the Cloud environments.
Monitor, support, effectively develop, and maintain robust scripts and tools to automate common tasks and resolve technical problems using agile development methods.
Support Hybrid Cloud environment comprising of an internal private cloud and public cloud service. The team operates a global 24×7 “Follow the Sun” (FTS) support model with regional teams based in Americas, London, Japan and India.
Provide on call support, troubleshoot production issues, and implement infrastructure changes during weekends.
Provide assistance and support to transformation programs for application and services looking to move to the cloud environment.
Provide technical knowledge and support to the user community, comprised of infrastructure teams and application owners alike, to improve system resiliency
Act with a sense of urgency when issues arise, engaging relevant parties to assist with troubleshooting and investigation of problems until a resolution is reached.
Investigate and determine root causes for major incidents with the help of vendors and internal infrastructure teams, providing a detailed RCA and plan for remediation.
Provide guidance and expertise for implementing application requirements, championing the use of best practices and Engineering recommendations
Strong Knowledge of virtualization and good experience with VMware technology.
Strong Scripting and source control skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Strong knowledge of Ansible automation and experience of writing playbooks.
Strong knowledge of Linux operating system (preferably Redhat 7.x and above)
Strong understanding of networking concepts, DNS, LDAP, TCP/IP.
Experience of using DevOps based tools (e.g. Git, Ansible, puppet, Jenkins etc.)
Experience with log manipulation tools (e.g. Splunk, ELK)
Experience in VMware virtualization, Redhat Satellite administration, Redhat Linux, Ansible implementation in an enterprise environment.
Experience with automation technologies to build, deploy, and integrate both infrastructure and applications (e.g. Ansible), deploying with Jenkins and facilitating CICD pipelines.
Experience of supporting products and technologies in a private cloud infrastructure.
Experience in cloud delivery and deployment models for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings.
Experience of debugging, optimizing code, and automating routine tasks.
Experience with container strategies and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgement, maturity, and Experience in the Financial Services industry.
Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging technical environment, with the aim of producing meaningful results for the business.
