    Job Overview

    We are seeking a desktop platform engineer position as part of the global Digital Workspace Engineering function.  The candidate will possess subject matter expertise across end user computing technology disciplines, with a focus in delivering on the Microsoft Windows platform, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and application management solutions.  The role will be part of a global project team to drive end user workstyle transformation across the organization.

    Responsibilities

    The candidate will join a team with global engineering responsibility on the enterprise Windows and end user computing platforms.  The candidate will work with the Technical Domain Architect to oversee engineering projects in managing resources and deliverables within time and budget, and will respond to third level escalations on technology stacks associated with the technical domain.  The candidate will need to work closely with other members of the engineering team, specifically those located in Hong Kong and London. As a result flexible working hours will need to be supported.

    The position is an advanced engineering role requiring full spectrum of subject matter knowledge, industry awareness, as well as business and technical acumen.  The candidate is required to be skilled in translating complex business requirements into well-structured research, design, and documentation to produce global technical solutions with maximized cost-effectiveness.  The candidate will engage with a wide audience of technology and business groups in analyzing requirements, presenting solutions, defining platform strategy, and driving adoption of new technology.

    Requirements

    Essential:

    Advanced knowledge and experience in Windows desktop technologies, including Windows 10  configuration, user environment management, Active Directory, group policies.
    Advanced knowledge in the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), with strong experience in managing OS deployment, application deployment, software updates, and resource management.  Experience in managing user-targeted software deployment.
    Advanced knowledge in Windows application packaging technologies, including MSI, App-V, UWP, and strong experience in creating workflow automation and integration.
    Strong technical expertise in creating workflow and testing automation framework, as well as proven experience in Windows scripting including PowerShell, VBScript.
    Strong knowledge in managing end user computing hardware devices, specifically with experience in configuring and securing laptop devices in remote access work styles.
    Experience in managing global desktop platform and desktop hardware migration.
    Experience in implementing and supporting end user self-service systems for desktop services such as application installation.
    Technical knowledge of supporting network systems and technologies in a distributed global organization.

    Experience in an engineering role in a large global organization, preferably in the finance industry.
    Proven stakeholder management skills and strong team dynamics to achieve in a mixed and geographically dispersed virtual global team.
    Strong sense of work ethics and discipline in complying with regulations and policies.
    Highly self-motivated and result-driven to be able to deliver independently.
    Strong oral and written communication skill in English is a must.

    Desirable:
    Advanced knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware Horizon, Citrix.
    Knowledge in designing a thin office / free seating environment with stateless desktop technologies and an user-targeted application service experience.
    Knowledge in user environment management solutions such as AppSense, RES, UE-V.
    Experience in evaluation, selection, and designing management framework for end user computing devices, including mobile devices, tablets, laptops, desktop thin clients.
    Knowledge in end user desktop conferencing solutions including software phone and conference room collaboration solutions.
    Knowledge in designing user printing services in a globally dispersed office environment.
    Strong awareness of industry trends, products, solutions, and best practices.

    Other Comments
    Japanese language skills are an advantage.
