Title: Data Architect
This role is responsible to work closely with the business users, business analysts, systems designers and product/solution architects on a Project team to position ‘Data as an Asset’ and leverages data management, storage, and usage principles and technical knowledge to promote it. The Data Architect will articulate data flow, business data mapping processes, data transformation, master data management, and other data management issues that track data from creation in transactional systems and follows it through application and analytical uses. In addition, the DA plays an active role in integrating data from different unrelated Data Sources in support of multiple parallel projects as well as the strategic Enterprise Data lake. The DA must have knowledge of industry tools and leading data architecture practices and proven capabilities with data mapping, modeling, and management tools.
Contribute to planning and lead execution of establishing a roadmap and vision for information delivery and management; including the enterprise data lake, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management · Develop the vision around design and management of data as it pertains to the business strategy and establish processes for governing the identification, collection and use of corporate metadata; take steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity · Lead data architects and data engineers to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill the business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy · Apply business strategy while driving technology strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly · Analyze and establish governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing enterprise data. Ensure that existing data/information assets are identified, stewarded and leveraged across the enterprise · Collaborate with other architecture team members to formulate holistic architecture designs with consideration to security applications, business applications, infrastructure, and technology solutions. . . Prioritizing data importance, identifying data classifications, data volumes and characteristics, and most typical data uses (across business functions or more restricted uses) Experience managing legal and compliance data requirements (cloud strategy, security, PHI, CCI)
10 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 5 years of technical leadership experience
Experience leading a technology team of architects that delivered data management solutions to large number of end users · Understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management . Experience with two or more vendors in any of the following areas including; Informatica- MDM and IDQ, SQL Server, Oracle 11g, SQL Data Warehouse, , Hadoop Ecosystem, Tableau, Qlikview · Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work. Must be able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; and foster the development of high performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization.
MS in Computer Science preferred with 8 to 10 years of experience in data management
