    Job summary:
    A creative messenger, the Copywriter contributes to the development of strategic marketing communications that promote the brand through writing fresh, insightful copy that effectively engages our audiences and drives results.

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Evident understanding of grammar and language
    • Knowledge of traditional and emerging advertising/marketing mediums
    • Quick learner
    • Solid organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Financial marketing writing experience a plus but not required

    Education and experience:
    • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
    • Communications, Advertising, English major preferred
    • 3+ years total work experience (2-3 related)

    Essential job functions:
    Write copy for a multitude of projects across all lines of business
    • Promote products and services using clear, concise copy that communicates features and benefits in a compelling manner
    • Adapt copy style to be appropriate for our different targets and lines of business
    • Review copy in layout to ensure accuracy
    • Interpret a brief — cohesively communicate main message and support points
    • Respond to manager and client feedback; edit materials as needed
    • Perform proofreading tasks on assigned copy projects
    • Be able to work independently, as well as collaborate with designers
    • Assist senior copywriters and managers on larger, more complex projects

    Communicate the brand voice and tone
    • Be able to express financial concepts in a conversational style that’s in sync with our brand voice
    • Write clear, concise, grammatically correct, copy
    • Establish familiarity with the Editorial Style Guide
    • Utilize knowledge of our brand (as well as marketing, advertising and industry trends) to better differentiate the firm through writing

    Manage assigned workload, taking projects from kickoff to completion in a professional manner
    • Work in a timely manner to meet key deadlines throughout the project lifecycle
    • Prioritize day-to-day workload, work with manager to prioritize larger scope
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners; raise scheduling issues early enough to address appropriately
    • Utilize the company workflow system for tracking projects
