Title: Business Analyst – Broomfield, CO
Essential Duties
§ Work closely with the technical Subject Matter Experts (SME) providing key analytical support that will allow requirements to be understood, defined and documented at a level that will enable systems to be effectively developed, tested, deployed and supported.
§ Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
§ Leads the system design and implementation of existing and new systems.
§ Responsible for the Systems Requirements Definition process including system interface specifications and data requirements.
§ Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
§ Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system.
§ On certain projects, directs and coordinates work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs.
§ Understands business and technology environments, application, systems and process capabilities.
§ Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
§ Assists Development teams in resolution of work problems related to requirements or project specifications.
§ Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Business Requirements Document, System Requirements Document, Use Cases, Process Flows, testing input)
§ Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
§ Be the liaison between technology teams and support teams.
Testing
§ Coordinates groups of technical personnel who test, evaluate and validate new functions and applications, and identify issues in software or services.
§ Develops Data Test Plans, Data Test Cases and coordinates and participates in Data Testing as well as supporting the QA process as needed.
§ Ensures that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management process and tools.
§ Participates in smoke testing in release process.
§ Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
§ Communicates needed changes discovered in Testing to Project Manager and development team.
Project Management
§ Provides support to the day-to-day planning, management and project control.
§ Coordinates interactions with the impacted areas and helps to keep the Project Team on target and focused.
Supervision
§ Works under the general supervision of the Manager of the Project Management Office.
Work Experience
§ Minimum 5+ years’ experience in systems & data analysis including standard project management, client consulting, and quality assurance experience.
– 1-2 years minimum experience on network or infrastructure efforts. Experience in Datacenter efforts or migrations a plus.
– Proven Senior Business Systems Analyst, project management and leadership skills.
– Proven communication skills (written and verbal) in working with management, clients and technological experts.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
– Proven ability to develop, document and maintain system requirements, including the designing and documenting of data flows and use case development.
– Solid understanding of existing and emerging industry practices, and ability to evaluate alternative business solutions.
Education
§ BA degree business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
