​The Enterprise Cloud Team is looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Architect with hands-on cloud engineering experience.  The ideal candidate has experience working in hybrid cloud-on-prem environments, building cloud group and subscription hierarchies, building and securing cloud-based infrastructure, supporting application runtime environments, architecting solutions and comfortable communicating to engineers at all levels of the datacenter stack what must be implemented, while being hands-on as needed.

Duties
-Cloud Architecture, Platform Design and Development (75%)
-Implement scalable Cloud Group and Subscription hierarchy and permission models to support merging LOB’s and continued business expansion
-Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for global applications.
-Collaborate with Automation Team to streamline and operationalize Cloud Infrastructure Creation, Cloud Application Deployment, and Security processes
-Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks.
-Work with the Cloud Team Lead to understand and implement strategic cloud standards, guidelines, tactical designs, roadmaps and best practices, while minimizing technical debt
-Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns.
-Build, mature and maintain cloud service catalog
-Develop solutions architectures and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
-Define complex authentication and authorization patterns to secure deployed cloud applications for system-to-system, internal, external, and third-party user constituencies

Project Consultation (15%)
-Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, technical design from a platform perspective catering to specific strategic and tactical initiatives/projects.
-Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of the cloud platform issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solutions.
-Provide cloud support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.

Thought Leadership (10%)
-Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions, solving complex business requirements.

Skills:
-Demonstrate knowledge of cloud platform architecture and the implementation features like multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability, high availability.
-Hands-on expertise in Cloud infrastructure configuration and deployment.
-Hands-on expertise on Iaas/PaaS deployment strategies and service component integration
-Hands-on expertise implementing and securing the platform layout and the network components – VPC/vNet, subnets, routes, peering, security groups, load balancers, DNS settings, Next-gen Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Network Security Groups, ACL’s, IP whitelisting, etc.
-Familiarity with DMZ and perimeter networks, application proxies and related patterns for securing internet access to cloud-based web applications
-Knowledgeable about enterprise and cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) and experienced designing and supporting access and permission models, including IAM Users, Groups, Roles, Custom Policies and Roles, mapping AD groups to Azure Roles, specific to projects and/or initiatives.
-Familiarity with multiple cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, GCP) but specialization in Azure
-Familiarity with private cloud technologies (e.g., OpenShift, VMWare) and deployment
-Familiarity with on-premises and cloud provisioning, automation
-Experience solutioning multi-tenant, web-scale, internet-facing cloud solutions with varying degrees of application, customer, and data isolation
-Familiarity with Data Analytics services including Hadoop/Spark family, Cloudera, HortonWorks, SnowFlake, and visualization tools
-Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL and document databases as well as meta-data repositories and meta-data management
-Familiarity with micro-service architectures, synchronous and asynchronous API implementation (Web Services, REST), API Gateways
-Familiarity with container orchestration services – Kubernetes, EKS, AKS.
-Familiarity administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
-Experience with infrastructure and configuration management scripting tools and solutions – Hashicorp Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CF templates, ARM, PowerShell, Python
-Comfortable coding in a polyglot environment, including Java, C/C++, Perl, Python, Scala, GoLang, .Net CORE

Qualifications
-Twelve (12) years progressive IT experience with at least ten (10) years of managing and supporting projects and minimum eight (8) years of cloud architecture and engineering experience
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, Master’s degree from an accredited college/university is a plus
-Demonstrated experience defining engineering approaches for various public and hybrid cloud initiatives; proven leadership of teams of at least three direct reports, including performance management, coaching and training
-Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and cloud platforms.  Relevant certifications are a plus.
-Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and presentation skills to excel in an environment driven by customer service and team work; experience supporting a professional services organization is a plus
-Comfortable mentoring junior-level architects and engineers and adept at interacting with IT and Business-facing resources​​
