    The Junior Accountant is responsible for the entry, analysis and maintenance of the general ledger with particular focus on accounts payable and disbursements, cash management support, monthly and year end close support, financial statements and audit support, and participation in the implementation of sound internal and compliance controls. S/He will report directly to the Financial Controller. Fluent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese required

    Assist in month-end close process by reviewing for accuracy and correcting posting entries.
    Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling revenue and expense accounts, adjusting entries, and managing expense accruals and fixed asset schedule
    Manage all aspects of firm’s accounts payable (A/P) process including review of supporting documentation (e.g., vendor invoices, employee expense reports, wire requests); processing of both payable checks and outgoing wires; reviewing accuracy of A/P transactions; managing historic records; and serving as the primary contact for A/P inquiries
    Assist with the annual audit and financial statements preparation, including helping with requests from the auditor and ensuring all aspects are completed within preset timelines
    Coordinate with the fund operations team to verify the revenues and maintain the revenue schedule
    Liaise with the affiliates and prepare various financial and regulatory reports
    Coordinate with the tax team and compile data for preparation of tax provision and tax returns
    Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA candidate preferred.
    Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
    Experience with accounting software. Prior experience with Quick Books software preferred
    Proficient with MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work effectively in a multicultural team environment
    Analytic and detail-oriented, with good organizational skills
    Self-motivated, with high initiative and able to work with minimal supervision
